Quarantine Measures Required for International Students

1. Getting Ready Before Departure:

1. The current quarantine measure is 3-day-quarantine and 4-day-self-initiated epidemic prevention following the end of quarantine, and the arrival airport must be the Taoyuan International Airport.
2. Required Document:

(a)The Overseas Student Entry Permit Certificate, make sure to print it out in colour and pack it with you as the certificate will be in use after you arrive in Taiwan.

(b)Please have your thermometer packed in your luggage.

(c)Do not bring meat products into Taiwan, please check Prohibited Items before packing your luggage.

(d)From 00:00 on August 15 (incoming flight's scheduled arrival time in Taiwan), all travelers coming to Taiwan will no longer be required to provide a result of a PCR test taken within two days of their flight schedule time. However, those who test positive abroad are still required to wait over seven days from their specimen collection date before taking a flight to Taiwan in order to prevent cross-border transmission of the disease.

2. After Arriving Your Departure Airport:

Please follow the instruction and fill out the Quarantine System for Entry before boarding, here is the instruction：

(b)Please follow The Instruction and fill out the required information.

(c)Restart your phone after arriving in Taiwan, a message of Health Declaration Certificate will be sent to your phone.

(d)You need to show your Health Declaration Certificate while passing the Immigration Desk.

2. Answer honestly when being asked by the airport staff of your health condition, especially when you have symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, running nose or sour throat.
3. Please leave a message in the Line group after checking in at the airline counter, before boarding and arrival, so we would know everything is OK。

3. Arrival:

1. Please find the staff from the Team of the Taoyuan International Airport (They will have the Ministry of Education badge on their arm), then You will be led to counters of various mobile service providers after leaving the plane, it is crucial to buy a sim card valid for at least 10 days, then report your phone number in the Line group once you have your phone properly set.  There are banks near the luggage counter, you may get cash before or after collecting your luggage.
2. There are airport staff leading the travelers to take the quarantine taxi, do ask the airport staff if you are confused. Please take a photo of the taxi plate and send it to the contact group before you leave the airport.
3. Attention: Do not wander in the airport while finding ways to take the quarantine taxi, violation will be fined.
4. It must be one passenger in one quarantine taxi from the Taoyuan International Airport to the quarantine hotel, the trip would be around 2 hours (Make sure to go to the restroom while waiting for the luggage), and the fare is 1,080~1,340 NTD.  【Click here for getting more information through the webite COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention Zone of Taoyuan International Airport】
5. The trip from the airport is DIRECT to the quarantine hotel, it is not allowed to go to other places halfway.

4. After Getting in the Quarantine Hotel:

1. 疫指神通：

(a)Please join a Line program LINE疫止神通(CLICK HERE), which usually takes half to 1 day to work, you are required to report your health condition by 11 AM every day during your quarantine days.  Do report to us when you have symptoms or discomfort.

(b)If you are from Hong Kong or Macao, you need to apply for the Uniform UI number CLICK HERE (you must enter Taiwan for at least 4 hours. Please use the university address in your application: 彰化市介壽北路1號. The Uniform UI number is also required while you apply for ARC.

2. You are also required to report your body temperature twice every day during your quarantine period. Every student will be assigned for one counsellor to ease any possible tension occurred during quarantine period.

5. Further Notice During Quarantine:

1. You are required to conduct a PCR test (deep-throat saliva samples collecting) at the airport on the day of your arrival, and the result will be sent to you 1-2 days later via E-mail which you left in the Quarantine System for Entry. Then you can take a quarantine taxi to the quarantine hotel and proceed your 3-day-quarantine and 4-day-self-initiated epidemic prevention.
2. Changhua County Government has specified that international students must spend the 3-day-quarantine and 4-day-self-initiated epidemic prevention in the quarantine hotel room.
3. Since 15 June, 2022, every traveler will have two kits of at-home rapid test from the arrival airport, these kits are used when you suffer symptoms during quarantine period and on the 4th day of your self-initiated-epidemic-prevention. You need to send the testing result via your phone by replying message.
4. The day you arrive in Taiwan is Day 0, and the 3-day-quarantine starts on the next day of your arrival, then you need to continue the 4-day-self-initiated-epidemic-prevention following the end of quarantine. Therefore it is 8-day-duration in the quarantine hotel in total, and you need to pay for the hotel. It is not allowed to go out of your hotel room during these 8 days, violation will be fined up to one million NTD.
